About Me

Hi, I am Pastor Nathan.  The articles, sermons, and resources are posted here are reflect my own opinion and not that of the ELCA or any congregations or parishes that I serve.  I have served two congregations near Kindred, ND called Norman Lutheran Church and Davenport Lutheran Church.  I currently serve three congregations and a nursing home called the Portland Lutheran Parish.  The congregations are Bang Lutheran Church, Bruflat Lutheran Church and Perry Lutheran Church near or in Portland, ND. The nursing home is Luther Memorial Home.

I come from deep Lutheran roots. Growing up, I did not realize how blessed I was to be a part of a congregation and family where faith was important part of daily life. I believe strongly that the Lutheran tradition speaks God's Word of grace to this broken world, and I enjoy the Lutheran lens for understanding both the world and the Gospel. It has helped me to understand the world around me. But also opened my eyes to the work of God among all of us.

I am a pastor because of a love of the Gospel and a love of God's people. It is a joy and an honor to care for the people and serve with them for the glory of God. It is also a great joy to bring the Word into people's lives through preaching and teaching. Which is why I blog. It is a way for me to think through some of these ideas, get feedback from others, and helps to keep me reading and writing regularly.

I hope you enjoy and if moved please write a comment.
